Custom Collectd Plugins

The Collectd Exec plugin is used to run external scripts or applications, feeding the output back into collectd for storage. This allows you to extend collectd the daemon in an easy and flexible way.

Whilst a very large number of useful system metrics are already collected by collectd, extending it with your own exec plugin is as easy as writing a script that prints formatted messages to STDOUT.

Submit custom data directly to Metrics API

Instead of writing collectd plugins, you can also submit any data you like directly to the Wormly Metrics API. Many users find this to be a much easier method.
